Shashwat Singh/ Jhansi:Summer is in full swing. The temperature is continuously increasing. The effect of this heat is also visible on people’s health. Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari fainted while addressing a public meeting. However, after some time he again came on the stage and addressed the public. But, this 5-minute incident raised questions about the health of the Union Minister as well as the impact of the rising heat on health.
heat can cause harm
It was informed from the official Twitter handle of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari that he had fainted due to heat and high temperature. To know what effect heat can have on health, we talked to Dr. Alok Sharma, Assistant Professor and Cardiologist, Department of Heart Disease, Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College, Jhansi. He told that with the kind of heat it is, fainting is very common. Traveling in such weather and addressing election meetings is quite a tiring task. Apart from this, if you do not take sufficient quantity of your food and especially liquids, then you may faint. It is possible that the same thing might have happened with Nitin Gadkari also.
Keep these things in mind
Dr. Alok told that to avoid fainting in this heat, keep drinking water. Along with plain water, you can also drink coconut water, buttermilk, juice, glucose. Try to keep the body temperature low. If you sweat a lot then drink water mixed with sugar and salt. If you already have BP problem, then avoid going out in the sun. If any negative effect is seen on health, contact your doctor immediately.
