Why blood sugar increased in the morning: Type 2 diabetes is caused due to bad lifestyle and wrong eating habits. It brings many diseases with it. Eye, kidney, heart and cardiovascular diseases occur due to type 2 diabetes. That is, diabetes gives opportunity to many other diseases to flourish. According to the data of the World Health Organization, about 42.2 crore people in the world suffer from diabetes. Along with this, about 15 lakh people die every year directly or indirectly due to diabetes. Actually, the blood sugar level increases a lot in diabetes. The reason for this is that less insulin is produced in the body, which absorbs sugar in the blood and turns it into energy, but what is the reason that the blood sugar level becomes very high in the morning. Not only this, this increased sugar level harms the body in many ways.
Cortisol hormone becomes the villain in the morning
According to the news of Indian Express, Dr. Shyam Sundar CM, Consultant Endocrinologist of Sparsh Hospital, says that hormones play an important role in increasing the hormones in the morning in diabetes patients. Actually, the activity of cortisol hormone is very high between 6 am to 10 am. It is directly related to the blood sugar level. Dr. Shyam Sundar said that cortisol hormone is related to stress. That is, when we are under stress, cortisol hormone starts releasing more. It remains at its peak from 6 am to 10 am and after that it starts decreasing slowly. Cortisol is very low at night. This is the reason that there is a higher risk of cardiac arrest, heart attack and increase in blood sugar level between 6 am to 10 am.
prevents insulin from being produced
Dr. Shyam Sundar says that due to staying hungry all night, the glucose level becomes very low in the morning. To maintain it, three hormones glucagon, epinephrine and cortisol work as counter regulators. But cortisol is a stress hormone, so it is released in large quantities to keep blood sugar low. Not only this, cortisol levels also increase in the morning due to stressful life. There is more stress in the morning due to many reasons. Loan, EMI, work life, relationship, deadlines etc. increase the cortisol level. Therefore, cortisol levels remain high in the morning. Increased levels of cortisol prevent the cells of the pancreas from producing insulin. Therefore, the amount of insulin decreases. As soon as the amount of insulin decreases, the glucose present in the blood is not absorbed and the amount of sugar in the blood increases.
