Jhabua (Representative of New Zealand). District Administration is organizing the first International Rapid Rating Chess Tournament in Jhabua on Friday and Saturday at Barkuan. Its preparations have been completed. This tournament is approved by the World Chess Federation, All India Chess Federation by the director of the tournament, Gaurav Chaturvedi. A prize money of 30 thousand has been kept in this. The player who comes first in the competition will be given 50 thousand, second 30 thousand and third 20 thousand and after that till the end 3000 will be given to the players.

Thus 52 players will be rewarded. Commonwealth Games gold medalist Neha Haldhar and International Master Chakravarthy Reddy M from Bangalore and national and international level players are participating in this event. It is a matter of great pride for Jhabua district to have these chess players participating in this tournament. Till now 80 players from cities and metros of Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have registered to participate in this event. Organizing Committee chairman Siddharth Jain said that the international tournament is an important step for the development of sports in the district. This will increase the trend towards chess in the district and the intellectual level of the players will also improve. He said that this tournament is even more important because it is being organized in the memory of the revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad of our district. It is a very important platform for the district. From where the players of our district will get recognition at the national level. The name of Jhabua will be proud on the national and international stage.
