Stock Market Holiday on Good Friday: This week has been quite short for the Indian stock market. This week, only 3 days of work took place in the stock market. The stock market was closed on Monday, the first day of the week, due to Holi. After this, there will be no functioning of the stock market on Friday due to Good Friday. Today, Good Friday is being celebrated all over the world. Due to this, operations on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed today.
There will be no work even in derivatives segment
According to the Stock Market Holidays 2024 list available on the BSE website, there will be no trading activity in the equity segment, equity derivatives segment and SLB segment on Good Friday. On these occasions, the currency derivatives segment in the Indian stock market will also remain suspended.
Will the commodity market open today?
Due to Good Friday, there will be no work in the commodity market on MCX and NCDEX on Friday. Trading on these exchanges will be suspended for both the sessions.
Market closes with a rise
The Indian stock market closed with gains on Thursday, the last trading day of this week. Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex closed at 73.651 with a gain of 0.90 per cent or 655.04 points. During trading, the Sensex jumped by about 1100 points to reach 74,190. At the time of market closing, out of 30 Sensex shares, 26 shares were on the green mark and 4 shares were on the red mark. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty closed at 22,326 on Friday with a gain of 0.92 percent or 203 points. At the time of market closing, out of 50 shares of Nifty, 45 shares were on the green mark and 5 shares were on the red mark.
