If we turn the pages of the history of the world, we will come to know about many dictators. All this included the name of Idi Amin who became known for his cruelty and eccentricity. When Amin was written in the books, those stories stunned everyone. After all those things, people gave different names to this dictator of Uganda. Apart from this, he was also accused of killing lakhs of people of his own country.
Idi Amin, who declared himself the President of Uganda after a coup in the country, was born in Kobko. Childhood was rough and mother took care of her. From a young age, when Amin grew up, he started boxing and later became the heavyweight champion. Then around the year 1945-46, he joined the army and got caught in the eyes of the officers due to his flamboyance.
Idi Amin gradually strengthened his hold and rose to high positions in the army. Idi Amin was accused of a genocide in Uganda in 1962, but Uganda got independence before action was taken. After that Amin did not look back. In Uganda, he himself led the army in the government of Obate Milton, but in 1971 he declared himself president in a coup d’état.
As soon as the government came in hand, Amin crossed all limits of cruelty. A year later, it announced that all Asians should leave the country within 90 days. This decision of Amin surprised everyone. People of Asian origin thought that maybe Amin had said this thing but he really took this decision. In those days, about 90 thousand people of Asian origin lived in Uganda.
Dictator Amin had said about his decision that Asian people were exploiting the country and did not keep pace with people of African descent. It was said in this decision that these people can only take goods out of the country up to 55 pounds and 250 kg. In the book ‘A State of Blood: The Inside Story of Idi Amin’, written about Idi Amin, former Ugandan Health Minister Henry Keyemba wrote a lot.
Henry Cayemba told that Amin not only killed his enemies but also vandalized the dead bodies. Many parts of the body like kidneys, liver, lips, nose and genitals were missing in these dead bodies. In the same book, he also mentioned that Amin had boasted in meetings several times in 1975 that he had eaten human flesh. At the same time, Amin’s servant also later revealed that he had seen a severed head in a refrigerator of the house.
Idi Amin was also accused of killing lakhs of people of his own country. After Amin’s reign, many mass graves were found in many places in Uganda. After 1979, Idi fled the country after Amin and was forced to live in exile in Saudi Arabia. Then in the year 2003, the world’s most dreaded dictator Idi Amin Dada died.
