Abhinav Kumar/Darbhanga. DMCH located in Darbhanga, Bihar is counted among the largest hospitals of North Bihar. People from more than half a dozen districts adjacent to Darbhanga come here for treatment. Despite this, the situation of mismanagement is such that the X-ray machine in the hospital is gathering dust. There is no one to see this. Whereas patients have to go outside the hospital to get X-ray done and also have to spend more money. Many manual machines are also lying broken in this hospital. These machines need servicing. However, the management of DMCH says that the work is being done with digital X-ray machine.
Dr. Harendra Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Darbhanga DMCH, says that X-ray is running properly in DMCH. The help of digital X-ray is being taken in emergencies. Besides, manual X-ray is also working. He told that digital X-ray is going on in the super specialty building. Regarding the broken X-ray machine, it was said that the machinery is a spare part and breakdown can happen at any time. Due to which the work gets disrupted. Everything gets fixed, because right now the digital era is going on and the patients coming here also trust it. But, the hospital management is also using manual X-ray machine to reduce the load of the digital machine. For example, if X-ray of bones has to be taken then there is nothing much in it. In this, X-ray can be done manually and the maintenance cost in it is also negligible.

Three to four units of X-ray remain in backup
Dr. Harendra Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Darbhanga DMCH, says that when an X-ray gets damaged, its backup is also there. There are always three to four unit functions. When one gets damaged, it is transferred to the other. However, when the X-ray machine breaks down, wrong information is given to the patients and people in rural areas go outside to get X-ray done due to lack of information. Where more money is taken from them. DMCH is taking initiative, but concrete initiative is not being taken. Dozens of X-ray shops are running around DMCH. The Deputy Superintendent said that boards have been put up everywhere in the DMCH premises and people are also being made aware that all testing facilities are available here. No need to spend money outside.
