At least 62 percent of parents are in favor of making children and teachers compulsory to wear masks while in classrooms in schools. This has been claimed in a new survey.
The online platform LocalCircles has come to this conclusion based on interactions with over 25,000 people across 381 districts in India. Of these, 42 per cent people are from Tier I cities (Tier first city), 35 per cent in Tier II cities (Tier II) and 23 per cent from Tier III and IV (Tier three and four cities) and rural districts.
The survey report said that at least 62 per cent citizens said that wearing a mask should be mandatory. Only nine per cent of the people said that the requirement of masks should be abolished. Eight per cent said that the wearing of masks should be abolished and should be reintroduced if the national TPR exceeds one per cent.
According to the survey, nine out of 10 parents said that most people in their areas do not have masks or are not wearing masks properly.
The report said that some people criticized the state governments for doing away with the mandatory wearing of masks, which would create a perception among the people that the epidemic is over, which is dangerous.
