Besan is very effective for weight loss. If you are on a weight loss mission, then gram flour can be helpful for you. There are many easy-to-make recipes with this protein-rich gram powder. Besan contains fiber, iron, potassium, phosphorus, folate, thiamine, copper, zinc and many other nutrients. You can make such recipes of gram flour in breakfast, which are healthy as well as tasty.
besan cheela
Take two tablespoons of gram flour in a bowl (take a big bowl so that it becomes easy for you to mix the ingredients while making the cheela batter.) Add water to it. Whisk the mixture of gram flour and water continuously and make it thick. Add salt, pepper, thyme, red chili, vegetables of choice and spices of choice. Keep the batter aside for 5 minutes. Heat a pan on medium flame, apply some butter or ghee or oil on it. Pour the batter on the pan with a big spoon and spread it as much as you want. When cooked from one side, turn it over. Cook for 5 minutes on both the sides. Cheela is ready.
besan dhokla
Take gram flour, salt, sugar, citric acid and turmeric in a bowl. Add water to this mixture and bring it to medium consistency. Grease a steaming pan with some oil. Take baking powder in a small glass and add water to it. Pour the mixture into the gram flour batter and pour the batter into the steaming pan. Steam the besan batter for 15 minutes.
Besan Toast
First of all, take gram flour, finely chopped onion, tomato, herbs and spices of your choice in a bowl. Make a thin thick batter by adding water to it. Take care that there are no lumps in the batter. Cut the brown bread into two pieces and dip it in the batter. Immediately pour it into a hot pan and toast it with butter or oil. Toast is ready.
gatte vegetable
Take out the gram flour in a bowl and add asafoetida, turmeric, cumin, carom seeds, coriander powder and salt to it. Add curd and oil to this mixture. Mix all the ingredients well and then add water gradually and knead the dough. Boil water in a big pot and when the water starts boiling, roll the gram flour into thin sticks, dip them in boiling water so that they get cooked well. When they are cooked well, take them out and cut them into pieces. Prepare your gravy with onion, ginger and garlic pastes and spices. After the gravy is ready, add cooked gram flour, gatte to the gravy.
Khandvi
To make Khandvi, take gram flour and buttermilk. Add ginger and green chili paste to the batter, if you like the taste of raw spices, you can skip adding these. Transfer the batter to a pan and cook till the batter thickens. Keep stirring the batter continuously. When the batter becomes thick, take a plate and grease it with ghee or oil. Spread the batter on a plate. Spread it all over the plate, so that you can make small thin rolls out of it.
