The Department of Urology, Robotics and Renal Transplant at Safdarjung Hospital will soon be declared a National Center of Excellence. Work is being done rapidly in this direction. During the program organized on the occasion of World Kidney Day on Saturday in association with NOTO at the Department of Urology, Robotics and Renal Transplant, Safdarjung Hospital, he said that he has worked expeditiously towards starting a national health program focused on prevention and treatment of kidney diseases. He is going. We need to do better work on prevention of kidney diseases. If special awareness is spread among the people about this, then it will be of great benefit.
During this, he also announced to start the center. On this occasion Medical Superintendent of Safdjung Hospital Prof (Dr) SV Arya, Chief Patron Professor (Dr) Anoop Kumar, HOD Urology, Robotics and Nodal Officer for Renal Transplant and Renal Transplant, SJH and VMMC were the organizing secretary. The event was attended by more than 250 delegates, which include faculty and medical staff of SJH, medical students, nursing students, NGOs, paramilitary service officers and others from the society.
Also the organ donating families were felicitated by DGHS and MS SJH and given a certificate of appreciation along with priority treatment card. Safdjung Hospital is the first hospital in India to start this.
Dead organ transplant will start again in Safdarjung
Dead organ transplantation activities are being resumed soon at Safdjung and Vardhman Medical Colleges. In this process, the organs of brain dead patients are removed and transplanted into the body of needy patients. Safdarjung Hospital is the only hospital in India that provides free kidney transplant services along with immunosuppressant drugs for a lifetime post transplant to all patients coming from different parts of India.
