There has also been a significant increase in cases of digital eye strain with the increase in the use of digital devices; Because less high energy waves emitted by digital devices enter the eye and can damage retinal cells. This makes a person more vulnerable to various eye diseases ranging from age-related macular degeneration (AMD) to dry eyes. According to a recent study conducted on 217 students in the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, 109 students were suffering from digital eye strain. Among them, 26% were mild cases, 13% were moderate cases and 11% were cases of severe grade. Common symptoms of these cases were headache and itching.
