Ingredients to make Crispy Colorful Mathri-
– Flour – 200 grams
-Salt – 1 tbsp
Baking Soda – 1/5 tsp
Oil – 4 tbsp
– Warm water – 1 cup
Food color- red, green, yellow
How to make Crispy Colorful Mathri –
To make colorful mathri, first put 200 grams of all purpose flour in a big vessel and add some oil for moyan. After this, add 1 tbsp salt and 1/5 tsp baking soda to it. Now prepare a dough by mixing all the ingredients well with the help of your fingers. To prepare the dough, knead the dough by adding lukewarm water gradually. Keep in mind that the dough should not be too soft. After preparing the dough, keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Now cut the dough into four equal parts with the help of a knife. Knead the four parts of the dough separately once again, leaving red food color in one part, green in the second part, yellow in the third part and leaving the fourth part like this. So that the color mixes well in the flour. After this, first put the red colored dough on the wheel and roll it in the shape of a big roti with the help of a rolling pin. Now roll out the yellow part and make it like a roti. Then make green colored roti. In the end, we will also roll out the non-coloured dough.
After taking all the dough bells, now first of all you will keep the red colored roti. Apply some water on it with a brush and then put green colored roti and apply water with the brush. After this, keep yellow colored roti and apply water and in the end keep roti without color.
We will roll the layered rotis on it and roll it well by applying water with a brush on the last end. Now cut mathris into thin slices. Your colorful mathri is ready to be fried. Heat oil in a pan and fry colorful mathris. After this take out the mathris on a paper towel and drain off the excess oil. Colorful mathri is ready for your Holi.
