Ingredients for making Indori Poha
Poha – 2 cups
Onion – 1
Green chillies – 3-4
Green coriander – 3-4 tbsp
Pomegranate seeds – 1/2 cup
Curry leaves – 10-15
Peas – 1/2 cup
Mustard – 1 tsp
Fennel – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Lemon – 1
Sev – 1/4 cup
Oil – 2 tbsp
salt to taste
Indori Poha Recipe
If you want to make Indori style poha for breakfast, then first clean the poha and wash it with water 2-3 times and keep the soaked poha in a sieve. After some time, the excess water present in the poha will drain out. – Meanwhile, finely chop green coriander, green chilies and onion. – Now heat oil in a pan. As soon as the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, whole coriander, asafoetida and fennel and fry for a few seconds. When the mustard seeds start crackling, add curry leaves and finely chopped onion. – Now fry the spices and onion while stirring. It has to be fried till the color of the onion becomes light pink. Meanwhile, add turmeric, sugar and salt as per taste to the soaked poha and mix well with your hands. – After this, put the poha in the pan and mix it well with the spices. If needed, you can also sprinkle some water on the poha so that the poha becomes soft. – Now cook the poha while stirring for 2-3 minutes. – After this turn off the gas and keep the poha covered for 2 minutes so that the steam makes the poha soft. – After this take out the poha in a plate and serve it by adding finely chopped onion, pomegranate seeds, green coriander and saute on top.
