Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently wrote a blog on the occasion of his mother Heeraben’s birthday, in which he shared things related to his childhood and mother. In this blog, he had mentioned about his childhood friend Abbas, who used to study at his house. The PM wrote that Heeraben used to take care of Abbas like her own children and used to prepare dishes of his choice on Eid.
Let us tell you that Abbas was working in the Food and Supplies Department and retired a few months back. He has two sons. The big fleet lives in Kasimpa, Gujarat. At the same time, in the city of Sydney, Australia. Abbas has also now shifted to Sydney with his younger son. Recently, PM Modi’s youngest brother Pankaj had shared all the things related to Abbas to the Indian Express. He had told that Abbas’s father and my father were friends. There was no high school in his village, so we brought Abbas with us. He completed his studies by staying here.
In a recent interview to Dainik Bhaskar, while confirming PM’s words, Abbas mentioned Heeraben and told how she used to take care of him. He said that PM Modi remembered him, it is a matter of pride for him. They say that in the year 2014, when I went to perform Hajj, I had brought Jannatul Firdous perfume and Jamzam holy water from there especially for Hiraba. She was very happy on this.
Rarely met Narendra Modi: Abbas said that Modi’s youngest brother Pankajbhai and he used to study together. When I shifted to Heeraben’s house to study, Narendra Modi did not stay at home long before that, so there was not much interaction with him. Yes…Pankaj bhai met me recently and we keep on talking.
