Doctors will now be able to check the pulse of patients in their OPD without touching them. Scientists of MNNIT have designed Sensorized Stethoscope (Ala). This hi-tech niche is being tested in the lab with the help of doctors. After a month’s successful trial, the institute will make a formal application for the patent.
In view of the corona infection, the scientists of the institute started work on the censored stethoscope in June 2020. Dr. Ashutosh Mishra, Sajal Babu, Dr. Ramesh Pandey, Dr. Abhishek Tiwari, then Director of Applied Mechanics Department, Prof. Directed by Rajeev Tripathi and Prof. The work was started under the guidance of RP Tiwari.
Sajal told that the patient who reaches the doctor will be given a censored niche by sitting at a distance of eight meters. The part of the body on which the doctor will ask to be applied, the patient will have to apply it there. The sensor will connect to the doctor’s mobile via Bluetooth. The doctor will be able to hear his sound through mobile or earphones.
one thousand will cost
Sajal said that about eight hundred rupees have been spent in preparing the censored niche. Doctors will get one thousand rupees in the market. Sajal also claims that so far there is no such niche in the market. It took almost two years to make it.
Taking feedback from doctors
Sajal told that before starting the work on this, talks were held with the doctors. Feedback is also being taken from doctors during testing.
