Even after the passage of more than two years, the danger of corona has not reduced. As time is passing by, many new variants of corona virus are coming out. At the same time, many new information related to this virus and to understand its danger, scientists all over the world are engaged in research. In the information related to corona, the reasons for being corona are still not known properly. Apart from this, many new theories of this disease are also coming out regarding its symptoms. Recently, in an attempt to understand the nature of the virus, scientists have done a study, in which it has been found that even looking at a person’s nails, it can be known that how much a person is at risk of getting corona. It was revealed from this study that not only the nails, but also the size of the fingers of a person, it is known that how much risk of corona is there to him.
These things came out in the study
The study, published in the journal Scientific Reports, suggests that people whose ring finger is shorter than the index finger may be at higher risk of severe COVID-19. A team of researchers from Swansea University in the UK, the Medical University of ód in Poland and Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden conducted the study to understand how a person’s hormone levels (mainly testosterone) would increase when they were infected with COVID-19. What is the effect on recovery. The finding of the study showed that people with short ring finger are more likely to be hospitalized due to severe COVID disease and its symptoms. Apart from this, the study also found that people who have a large gap between the fingers of the right and left hand also showed severe symptoms of the virus.
How did the study happen?
For the test, the scientists also evaluated previous studies to gauge hormone levels by examining a person’s finger length. According to this study, having a long ring finger is a sign of high testosterone levels during growth in the womb, while a long index finger is a sign of high estrogen levels. Researchers believe that there may be a link between testosterone and the severity of COVID-19. The reason for this is that elderly men are more likely to see severe symptoms of corona.
In addition, the researchers gathered 154 participants and measured the length of their fingers in their hand. Among the participants, 54 people were infected with COVID-19. In the end, they found that people with a larger size ratio between their second and fourth fingers, as well as between their third and fifth fingers, were more likely to suffer from severe coronavirus than others. This simply means that low testosterone and high estrogen in both men and women put them at risk of serious corona virus infection.
