Thekua’s offerings are made in this four-day long festival. Thekua is first offered to the Sun God, after which it is given as prasad for everyone to eat. Thekua is very tasty to eat. From children to elders, everyone likes this food. In such a situation, today we have brought for you an easy recipe to make Thekua, which will make your Thekua crispy and soft. Ingredients for Thekua
Jaggery- 1/2 cup
Semolina- 1/2 cup
wheat flour- 2 cups
Fennel- 1 tsp
Almond- 1 tbsp (chopped)
Raisin- 1 tbsp (chopped)
Coconut- 2 tbsp (drained, grated)
green cardamom- 4, ground
Desi Ghee- 1/4 cup
Ghee or oil to fry
Make Thekua Recipe in this way
- First, break the jaggery into small pieces. Now put cup of water in a vessel and cook it till it dissolves. Keep stirring it once in a while.
- When jaggery dissolves well in water, switch off the gas. Now filter it and keep it in another vessel.
- Now prepare the batter by adding cup semolina in this vessel.
- Now to prepare Thekua flour, put wheat flour, fennel, almonds, raisins, coconut, cardamom and ghee together in a bowl and mix it well.
- Now when all this is mixed well, add jaggery-semolina solution and mix it and prepare a hard dough for thekue.
- You can also add some milk and water as per the requirement. Keep in mind here that the dough should be hard. Now keep the dough covered for 10 minutes.
- Now take small balls from this prepared dough and make thekua by pressing it with your palm. Today, if you want, you can also prepare it from the mold of Thekua available in the market.
- Now when thekuas are ready, keep the oil in a pan to heat for frying them. Now keep adding thekua in it one by one. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes from one side and then fry on the other side till it turns golden brown.
- Your crispy and soft Thekua are ready.
- You can store them in a box and eat them for 15 days.
