New Delhi, September 16 (IANS). State Congress President Devendra Yadav has raised questions on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s announcement of resignation. He has asked that if Arvind Kejriwal has taken a moral decision to resign, then why did he not do so when his name came up in the liquor scam or when he went to jail?
He says that Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to resign will free Delhi from corruption. Kejriwal says that he will go to the people’s court. He will take the post of Chief Minister only after the people’s decision, if he has to serve the people, he can do so even without being the Chief Minister. The way he was serving the society by resigning from the post of IRS officer.
He said that the people of Delhi have given their answer to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Lok Sabha elections. The public is waiting for Kejriwal to fulfill how many of the promises he made in the last three assembly and two municipal elections. Where was Kejriwal’s morality when 43 people lost their lives due to waterlogging, electric shock and drowning in drains due to the negligence and irresponsibility of the Delhi government and the municipal corporation. Why did he not issue orders from jail to give justice to everyone, but even today no one is ready to take responsibility for the death of these people.
He further said, “The game of politics of blame is going on. The people of Delhi have not forgotten the death toll caused by the Covid pandemic. Health, education, water, electricity, cleanliness, roads, drains, sewers, transport, environment, infrastructure, everything has collapsed in Delhi. For the last five years, AAP MLAs have been missing from the area. Kejriwal, his ministers, MLAs, councillors and even small leaders are involved in corruption and 20 ministers and MLAs have gone to jail.
Devendra Yadav said, “The people of Delhi have come to know about his drama in every election, ‘I am your son, give me a chance once’. The entire Delhi government is involved in corruption. Before resigning, Kejriwal should give an account of the 10 guarantees given to the people of Delhi in the last election. Due to the failures of the Kejriwal government, Delhi has gone back 50 years in terms of development and progress in 10 years.”
