After Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s remarks not wanting war against Pakistan, another senior Congress leader has made a controversial statement on terrorist attacks. Senior Maharashtra Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar on Monday questioned the statement of the victims, who said that the terrorists had asked him their religion before firing.
The MLA said, “The government should take responsibility for the Pahalgam terrorist attack. They (government) are saying that the terrorists killed people (about their religion) and killed them. Does the terrorists have time to do all this? … Some people say that this has not happened. Terrorists do not have any caste or religion. Identify people responsible and take appropriate action.
Reacting to the statement of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s “not in favor of war” on the Pahalgam attack, he said that if the government is ready for war, it should be done.
Talking to the media, Wadettywar said, “This is to divert the attention of all people. He (CM Siddaramaiah) said that there should be no war with Pakistan, but if the government is ready for war, then do it. You (government) talk about stopping Pakistan’s water. It will take 20 years to do so.”
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah advocated strengthening security in the Kashmir Valley to ensure peace.
Siddaramaiah told reporters, “There has been a security lapse in this incident. We are not in favor of war. Steps should be taken to tighten security measures in the Kashmir region. The central government should increase security to ensure peace in Kashmir.”
The BJP targeted Siddaramaiah’s statements and party MP Sambit Patra alleged that the Congress was speaking the language of Pakistan.
He said, “The Congress should expel Siddaramaiah and Timmapur. But the Congress will not do so because it is the real face of the Congress. Rahul Gandhi sought evidence of the surgical strike. Today Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah and Timmapur’s statements are airing on Pakistani TVs. Pakistan considers him its sympathy.”
The Pahalgam attack is one of the most deadly attacks in the valley after the 2019 Pulwama attack, killing 40 CRPF personnel. After the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken tough measures against Pakistan to support cross -border terrorism.
