With the economic and strategic aid being provided by NATO countries to Ukraine, the war is moving in the direction of indecision. No one seems to be winning or losing. But the longer the war is dragging on, the more suffering humanity has to bear.
Who does not know the horrors of violence and war? Their biggest history is found only in religious texts and stories. In almost all religions, with a few exceptions, there have been wars among themselves over the superiority of their respective sects or sects. Many wars took place in the world even in the fascination of empire. It is possible to discuss whether warfighters belonged to the same religion or different religions, but usually there have been efforts to defeat the opposite views through wars.
The fact so far is that wars have caused a lot of damage to the world and civilization, but no powerful one has ever been able to eliminate the different opinion or weak power. If we look at the past of India, there was a war between Krishna and Jarasandha, but even after the victory of Krishna, who is considered to be Lord, there are still a good number of followers or followers of Jarasandha. There were wars between Catholic and Protestant denominations, but even today there are followers of both the faiths. There were wars between Shia and Sunni sects. Millions of people died. Even after this, the number of people who believe in both the views is not less.
That is to say, war or violence has neither been able to eliminate any other ideology or sect, nor will it. The death toll in World War I was more than 10 million, while the death toll in World War II was more than 50 million. Some thirty-five million people were injured in World War II, and three million went missing in the 1940s. In the wars that took place in the name of religion, both the victor and the defeated side were there before the war and even after the war. Neither side could completely eliminate its counterparty. That is, the victory and defeat of wars is neither permanent nor will it be.
There were many wars and civil wars in the world in the name of apartheid and apartheid. But if we accept the point of view of final decision, then its result is zero. Despite this, why the civilized countries or communities of the world fight, it is also a matter of discovery and understanding. A foreign historian studying the history and wars of the world said that in the last three and a half thousand years, only two hundred and sixty years have been such in which there have been no wars. Otherwise the world has been fighting with each other.
That is why the question arises in the mind that if there were no wars in the world, what would the world be like? How much did it develop? How grand would the form of civilization and prosperity be? How advanced would science have been? These are all matters of consideration. But in this twenty-first century another difference is visible. Wars are now crossing all limits of destruction and cruelty. There was an unwritten limit in the wars of ancient times that wars were to be stopped after darkness or dusk. The war was fought among soldiers, with weapons, but the victorious army did not destroy the common man.
Whether we look at the wars of the time of Ramayana-Mahabharata or after, this tradition continued for some time. The foreign Mughal invaders, who were actually robbers in the early stages, broke these traditions. When Genghis Khan captured Delhi, many lakhs of people were killed and looted. This is how the massacre, vandalism and loot of unarmed people began. To defeat the enemy nations in World War II, America dropped atomic bombs on Japan on behalf of the Allies and destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
While this attack repulsed Hitler and his allies and won the war by destroying the morale of the Nazi forces, it was also the start of a more inhumane and more ruthless war. However, later the League of Nations and the United Nations also made a charter and set the rules for the war. Since the United Nations has no power of its own and is dependent on big countries in economic matters, the criteria set and accepted by it are applicable to weak countries, but powerful countries do not accept them. If we calculate the amount of money that has been spent on wars till now, then not one but many worlds could have stood in this money.
Now Russia has imposed war on Ukraine. One cannot even imagine how cruel and frightening he is. Even though UN rules state that weapons should not be used in residential areas or on unarmed people, Russia continues to bomb civilian areas to bring Ukraine to its knees. About five million people have fled Ukraine and are living refugee lives. Unarmed civilians, who have no hand in making war, and who have no desire for war, are all falling prey to this war. Thousands of children have been killed. This brutality in the name of war is unprecedented. It has been three months since the war went on, but its end is not in sight. It appears that this war has been imposed to create a new strategic balance and organization for the world. Along with this, another new cold war has also started from this.
Ukraine was inclined towards America and NATO and Russia was not ready to accept it at all for its security and prosperity. Even the so-called sanctions imposed on Russia so far have not yielded any results. With the economic and strategic aid being provided by NATO countries to Ukraine, the war is moving in the direction of indecision. No one seems to be winning or losing. But the longer the war is dragging on, the more suffering humanity has to bear. The fight is between NATO and Russia and for their own supremacy, but if they kill innocent people who may not even know what the war is and why it is happening?
In the role of Russia-China and hidden partisanship in the name of neutrality, India has become an undeclared-unwritten ally in this new military bloc. It can be assumed that India’s policy and concerns are about Pakistan, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and future national prospects. But the border dispute between India and China will rarely allow China to live with India honestly. Rather, on the other hand, there is another danger that in the future, India may become a victim of any other major loss by being isolated from both the factions. Overall, it is clear that global institutions have become the hangers of global powers. The only way to free the world from wars, disputes and economic exploitation is the way that Mahatma Gandhi told in Hind Swaraj and as a program presented by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia the idea of a World Parliament elected by adult franchise. One of the seven revolutions of Lohia is the creation of the World Parliament.
