Mayawati was born on 15 January 1956 at Sucheta Kripalani Hospital in Delhi. His mother’s name is Ram Rati. His father, Prabhu Das, Gautam was a postal employee in Badlapur in Buddha Nagar. He was very impressed by Mayawati’s words and ideas and asked her to join politics. In 1984, Kanshi Ram founded the Bahujan Samaj Party and included Mayawati in it. This was his first step in Indian politics. In 1989, she was first elected as a Member of Parliament. He won by a big margin and represented the Bijnor region of Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha. In April 1994, she became a member of the Rajya Sabha for the first time.
In June 1995, Mayawati became the first Dalit woman to become Chief Minister in the state of Uttar Pradesh. She held this post till 18 October 1995. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as an MLA in the Uttar Pradesh State Legislative Assembly. On 21 March 1997, she became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the second time and held the post till 20 September 1997. In 1998, she was elected for the second time as a member of the 12th Lok Sabha from Akbarpur region of Uttar Pradesh. In 1999, she became a member of the 13th Lok Sabha. On 15 December 2001, Dalit leader Kanshi Ram announced in a big meeting that Mayawati would be her political successor and would carry forward the Bahujan movement. In February 2002, he was re -elected as a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. In March 2002, he resigned from Akbarpur Lok Sabha seat. On 3 May 2002, she became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the third time and remained till 26 August 2002.
