During the discussion in the Lok Sabha on the journey of 75 years of the Indian Constitution, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju raised questions on the opposition’s narrative regarding the status of minorities in India and said, a narrative is being prepared in which there will be discrimination in the European Union. The increasing incidents are being discussed. A survey by the European Union’s Center for Policy Analysis has revealed that 48% of people have been victims of discrimination, most of whom are Muslims. There have been many such reports in France, where people of the Muslim community, especially those wearing head scarf or burqa, are complaining of discrimination. Incidents of internal hate crimes against Muslims have also increased in Spain, which is prominently mentioned in the report.
If we look at the situation in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Tibet, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and other countries, there have been many cases of atrocities and violence against minority communities, such as Sikhs, Hindus and Christians. Whenever there is atrocities against minorities in these countries, India is the first country where these people come with the hope of safety. Then the question arises that in such a situation why the question of security for minorities is raised in India. I say that we should not say such things which harm the image of the country. This is not against any one party, but to protect the reputation of the country.
