Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted the countrymen on the occasion of various harvest festivals and wished everyone good health as well as happiness and prosperity in life.

It is known that the festivals of Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Magh Bihu and Uttarayan are being celebrated in the country today.

In a series of posts on ‘X’, the Prime Minister said, “Many happy Makar Sankranti to all the countrymen. May this holy festival dedicated to Uttarayan Surya infuse new energy and enthusiasm into the lives of all of you.

Makar Sankranti is a festival which is celebrated with different names and ways in different states. In North India it is called Makar Sankranti. It is known as Pongal in Tamil Nadu. In Assam it is called Magh Bihu and in Gujarat it is called Uttarayan. This festival is associated with the harvesting of crops.

The Prime Minister also wished the countrymen on Magh Bihu and Uttarayan through tweets in different languages.

He said, “Happy Magh Bihu! We celebrate the abundance of nature, the joy of harvest and the spirit of togetherness. I wish that this festival carries forward the spirit of happiness and togetherness.”

In another tweet he said, “Happy Uttarayan!” I wish that this festival brings success and happiness in everyone’s life.

The Prime Minister on Monday met his Union Cabinet colleague and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit president G. Had attended Sankranti celebrations at Kishan Reddy’s residence.

He also participated in a function organized on the occasion of Lohri in Narayana Vihar area of ​​the national capital Delhi.
