Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav demanding a stay of Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express at Rae Bareli Junction.
In his letter, Gandhi said that although this train already passes through Rae Bareli, passengers of their constituency are requesting to stay at the station, especially to facilitate their journey, especially to go to the national capital.
He urged the Railway Minister to consider the demand for stoppage at Rae Bareli Junction of train number 20503/20504 and 20505/20506.
Gandhi wrote in a letter written on 3 September, “People of my parliamentary constituency have repeatedly requested for a brief stagnation, especially to facilitate the visit to New Delhi.”
The MP said that this demand has been pending for a long time and by fulfilling it, the immediate needs of the people of their constituency will be fulfilled.
Kishori Lal Sharma, a close associate of Gandhi and MP from Amethi, also confirmed PTI on Friday that the former Congress president had written a letter to the Railway Minister on the issue.
