The holy Dham is in Haryana where Barbarik donated his head, even today, every leaf of Peepal is found in the hole

हरियाणा में है वह पावन धाम जहां बर्बरीक ने दान में दिया था अपना शीश, यहां आज भी पीपल के हर पत्ते में मिलता है छेद

Chulakana Dham located in Panipat, Haryana is the holy land where Baba Shyam ji donated his head. This is the same holy land where Shri Krishna ji gave a vision of his great form to Mahabali Dani Veer Barbarik. This temple is 5 km from Samalkha town of Panipat. This temple is considered to be the best pilgrimage center of Kali Yuga.

What is its story?

Chulakana Dham belongs to Mahabharata. Bhima’s son Ghatotkacha was married to Kamakantkata, the daughter of the demon. His son’s name was Barbarik. Barbarik had the boon of Mahadev and Vijaya Devi. With his worship, Barbarik received three arrows from which he could destroy the entire creation. For this reason, Krishna took the test of Barbarik and demanded his head. Krishna took the head of Barbarik in his hand and sprinkled the nectar on it and put that head immortal and put it on a mound and said that you will go to my name. In Kali Yuga, you will be going to lend money to people. Since then, he has a temple here. Which is known as Shyam Baba.

Recognition of peepal tree in the temple

There is also a peepal tree in this temple. All of which have holes in the leaves. It is believed that before asking for a head, Shri Krishna took the test of the power of Barbarik. For this, Shri Krishna asked Barbarik to pierce Peepal leaves. During this time he pressed a peepal leaf under his foot. After this, Barbarik pierced all the leaves of Peepal with a single arrow. After which Shri Krishna said that there is a leaf left, then Barbarik said that you remove your foot, because the arrow will go back only by holes in the leaf under your leg. It is believed that since then there are holes in the peepal leaves present in the Chulakana Dham.

People tie a thread and ask for a vow
People revolve around this peepal tree to fulfill their wishes. People also ask for a vow by tying a thread on the tree. It is believed that tying the thread of vow fulfills the wishes of the people. Apart from Haryana, devotees from many states come here to see Shyam Baba. Statues of Ram devotees Hanuman, Shri Krishna, Balarama, Lord Shiva family and other deities are also installed in the temple of Shyam Baba. Ekadashi and Dwadashi also have a fair here.
