Today (Saturday, August 30) was the 14th day of the visit of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on the issue of voter list revision (SIR) before Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also participated in the voter rights yatra of the Grand Alliance today. The journey of Rahul-Tejasvi started in the morning from Ekma of Chapra (Saran), which reached Ara in the afternoon. A public meeting was organized at Veer Kunwar Singh Maidan in Ara, where all the leaders in turn targeted the Election Commission and the Bharatiya Janata Party on the issue of SIR.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting at Veer Kunwar Singh Stadium in Ara made several allegations against the Narendra Modi government. In his brief speech, he said, ‘PM Modi, BJP and RSS are running the government of Adani and Ambani together. All the public sector avenues have been taken away. The voice of the poor is being suppressed. Elections were stolen in Maharashtra, Haryana and Lok Sabha. But we will not allow a single vote stolen in Bihar.
Akhilesh said- India alliance will break the three-three arrows of BJP
Addressing the public meeting, former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party fiercely. He said that the whole country is eyeing Bihar elections. The kind of enthusiasm showing, it seems that this time the people of Bihar will drop the Bharatiya Janata Party out of power. He said, “We defeated BJP in Awadh, this time it is Magadha’s turn.” The SP chief alleged that the BJP uses people. After using it ruins them. Describing the “three-three arrows” of the BJP, the government and the officials, Akhilesh said that the India alliance would break it. Speaking on the issue of SIR, he said that he would first take away the right to vote from the people, then the right to ration and then the right to the job.
Tejashwi fiercely targeted Modi and Nitish
Addressing the rally of the Grand Alliance in Ara, Tejashwi Yadav said that from this ground, Narendra Modi had announced a special package for Bihar and placed bets. But till date that package has not been found. Modi’s promises are like paper boats and ships. He accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government of copying RJD’s promises and said that he has no vision. From Chhapra to Ara, Rahul, Tejashwi, Akhilesh and other big leaders of India alliance along with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya were also present. Voter rights journey was taken out for about 30 km from Babura to Ara in Bhojpur district.
Black flags shown to Rahul Gandhi in Ara
During the road show in Ara, the district president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and other BJP leaders showed black flags to Rahul Gandhi. The activists raised slogans in front of Rahul protesting abusive words for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother. Seeing black flags, Rahul Gandhi stopped his car and called BJP workers shouting slogans. Then he took out the toffees and gave them and moved forward.
Elephant and horses welcome at Bhojpur’s entrance
Elephants, horses and camels were sought from Saran to welcome Rahul-Tejasvi and other leaders at Babura in Bhojpur district. A grand welcome was given in other ways including traditional God dance, after which the voter rights journey reached Pachrukhia market at 11.05 am. From there, the convoy of vehicles moved from Haripur turn at 12.05 pm and beyond the beauty turn at 12.10 pm. Rahul and Tejashwi’s convoy did not stop anywhere on the way ahead of Babura. The supporters were disappointed when Rahul Gandhi’s face not seen sitting inside the car at Haripur turn.
Voter Adhikar Yatra passed through two assembly constituencies of Bhojpur
The voter rights journey of Rahul-Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav passed through the seven assembly constituencies of Bhojpur district, Barhra and Ara. Both areas are currently occupied by BJP. This time the Congress has claimed both these areas in the Grand Alliance. Therefore, this visit of Rahul Gandhi is considered important here. In the last election, RJD in Barhra and CPI Male in Ara contested from the Grand Alliance.
