Bihar Voter List Scam: There has been a shocking revelation between the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list running before the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. A investigation by the Union Home Ministry has revealed that two women from Pakistan in Bhagalpur have become voter ID cards. The incident came to light when the Ministry of Home Affairs started to locate foreigners who were illegally staying for more than the visa period. In this investigation, it was found that three Pakistani citizens were living illegally in Bhagalpur, out of which two women were also made voter ID cards.

Shocking facts revealed after investigation

After the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs, when the police headquarters investigated the matter with the SSP of Bhagalpur, all were surprised. According to the report of the Special Branch, voter ID cards were issued in the name of two Pakistani women living in Bhikhanpur Gumti No. 3 tank lane in Ishakchak police station area, Imrana Khanam alias Imrana Khatoon and Firdausia Khanam. As soon as this information was received, there was a stir in the police headquarters and an immediate detailed inquiry was ordered. Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, DM of Bhagalpur, has started the process of removing the names of both women from the voter list while taking immediate action.

Staying in India continues despite the termination of visa period

Investigation also revealed that Firdausia, who is a resident of Rangpur, came to India on a 3 -month visa on 19 January 1956, while Imrana came on a 3 -year visa. Both of them continued to live in India despite their visa period being over. In addition, another Pakistani citizen, Mohammad Aslam, who came to India on a two -year visa on 24 May 2002, also got his Aadhaar card made. This incident has become a major challenge for the security agencies, as it is not only a matter of illegal immigration, but also a matter of breaching the sensitive voter ID card system. The officials have summoned a detailed report of the entire case and further legal action is being taken. This case shows that there are still flaws in systems related to security and civil identity of the country, which need immediate attention.
