The scope of police action is increasing in the case of stone pelting on the police station in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. About 1000 people involved in the protest and stone pelting that day are on the police radar. Initially, the police registered an FIR against 46 accused, while more than 150 others have been made accused. Meanwhile, after the end of police remand, the court has sent Shahzad Ali to jail in judicial custody.
The police have arrested 37 people including the main accused Haji Shahzad Ali. Several police teams are conducting separate investigations and searches to arrest the other accused. Chhatarpur SP Agam Jain says that the entire case is being investigated thoroughly. At the time of the incident, there were about 1000 people in the police station during the stone pelting.
SP said, ‘The action taken on the first day was preliminary. Now action will be taken on the basis of CCTV installed inside and outside the police station and the statements of the police and administrative officials present there. Police will not spare anyone who was present in the incident. Police has also interrogated the main accused Haji Shahzad Ali for three days to find out who else is involved in the incident. Police has also tried to find out whether the incident happened suddenly that day or there was a conspiracy behind it.
Shahzad Ali was sent to jail for 14 days
Haji Shahzad Ali’s three-day police remand ended on Friday. After medical examination at the district hospital, the police presented Ali in the court. The court has sent Haji Shahzad Ali to judicial custody for 14 days. Tight security arrangements were made from Shahzad Ali’s appearance in the court till he was sent to jail.
