National Conference leader Omar Abdullah took oath as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Along with him, 6 other ministers have also taken oath. The National Conference has formed this government almost on its own with some independents. Nevertheless, after the oath taking of Omar Abdullah, the statement of his father Farooq Abdullah has come. He has described the post of CM given to his son as a crown full of thorns. He said this is the ‘Crown of Thorns’ and may Allah help people to fulfill their expectations. Taking inspiration from his grandfather, Omar Abdullah’s son Zaheer Abdullah said that the first priority of the new government is to restore statehood.
“The state is full of challenges and I hope this government will do what it promised in the election manifesto,” Farooq Abdullah said after the swearing-in ceremony at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre. This is the crown of thorns and may Allah grant him (Umar) success and may he fulfill the expectations of the people. This is my message. Zaheer Abdullah said, ‘After getting statehood, our real struggle for the restoration of Article 370 will begin. Article 370 will always be our priority.
Omar Abdullah is leading the first elected government in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. In 2019, the erstwhile state was divided into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Let us tell you that Zaheer Abdullah was also seen in this oath ceremony and also talked to the media. This was the first time that the fourth generation of the Abdullah family spoke openly to the media like this. Let us tell you that till now three people from Abdullah family have become CM. Farooq Abdullah, Sheikh Abdullah have also been Chief Ministers.
