A major accident happened during the immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha in Gujarat. Four people of the same family drowned in the river. This incident is from Patan district. According to the information, seven people were swept away in the water of Saraswati river near Patan during idol immersion on Wednesday evening. Among them, a woman, her two sons and brother drowned in the river.

15 divers were called

Collector Arvind Vijayan said that after seven people were swept away in the river, the locals immediately rescued two men and a woman. But four members of a family went missing after drowning in the river. After learning about the missing persons, the district officials called 15 divers from Patan, Mehsana and Siddapur towns to trace them.

Search operation conducted at night

Collector Arvind Vijayan further said that 15 tractors and earthmovers’ headlights were used to continue the search operation at night. After an intensive search and rescue operation, the bodies of four missing people were found early Thursday morning. According to information, a total of seven people were swept away in the river during idol immersion. But the people present there managed to save the lives of three people. At the same time, four people drowned.

According to information, Shital Prajapati (37), his sons Daksh (17) and Jimit (15) and his brother Nayan Prajapati (30) died after drowning in the river. All four lived in the Verai Chakla area of ​​​​Patan city. The bodies of all four were found in the river on Thursday morning.
