The woman pleaded with the police and administration several times for this, but when the matter did not work, she reached the court. After getting permission from the court, the police took the son out of jail for some time. The son lit his father as soon as he was handcuffed. The police then took him back to jail. In this way the elderly woman fulfilled her husband’s last wish.

The incident is from Balat village of Rajnagar police station area of ​​Madhubani district of Bihar, where a mother appealed to the court and administration to bring the son out of jail to fulfill the last wish of her husband. Eventually the court accepted the mother’s appeal and the son was allowed to offer fire to the father by bringing them out of jail for some time.

Surendra Jha (60 years), who lives in Raghopur village of Rajnagar, passed away. It was told that he was deeply saddened by his son Keshav Jha being in jail and wanted him to light him on the funeral. But Keshav was lodged in Mandal Kara (Jail) for the last 55 days in a murder case. After the death of Surendra Jha, when the villagers wanted to start his funeral, his wife Sunita Devi refused to lift the meaning. She kept saying repeatedly that her husband had the last wish that the elder son should offer fire. People tried to convince that the son was in jail, but she did not listen.

The court knocked

The villagers gave up in front of the woman’s stubbornness. The village head representative Sanjay Mishra and some other people reached the court. Advocate Ramsharan Sah filed an application in the court of CJM Pramod Kumar Mahatha to leave Keshav Jha from jail for some time only for the funeral. The court agreed to the application and ordered the Superintendent of Mandal Kara to bring Keshav Jha under police protection so that he can offer fire to his father.

Keshav Jha was brought out of jail amidst tight security of the police at night. There was handcuffs in the hands, but he lit his father. Seeing this emotional scene, the people of the village also became emotional.

Accused is in murder case

Keshav Jha is accused that on 30 April 2025, a person named Nand Kumar was found in an injured condition on a railway track near Bharia Vishanpur village, who died during treatment. In this case, a case of murder was registered against Keshav and others. On the same day, Keshav’s son also had Mundan rites, but the same day the police arrested him. Surendra Jha was broken by the son’s arrest and continued to wait for his release. His dream was that his son should be involved in the funeral – and this was finally possible with the wife’s efforts.
