Bastar Range Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P said that nine people including 8 DRG jawans and a driver from Dantewada were killed when Naxalites blew up their vehicle through IED blast in Bijapur. They were returning from a joint operation in Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur. He said the militants blew up a security vehicle by blasting an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) on Kutru Bedre Road. It is being told that the security forces personnel were returning after conducting their first anti-Naxal operation this year in Abujhmad on Saturday. The campaign started on January 3 (Friday).
