A Class IV student was raped and brutally murdered while returning from tuition. After some time the villagers found his body on the banks of the river. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has failed in providing security to women. My question to him is whether the girls of Bengal will not get relief even at the beginning of Devi Paksha? Protests continue over RG tax issue
This incident has come to light at a time when there is an uproar over the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. On August 9, the body of a trainee doctor was found at RG Kar College and Hospital. There were protests across the country regarding this. Junior doctors continued their protest in central Kolkata on Saturday despite calling off their ‘complete strike’ protest against the incident. The doctors alleged that police lathi-charged some of the agitators during their rally from SSKM Hospital to Esplanade in southern Kolkata on Friday demanding justice for the victim. In protest against the police lathi charge, some junior doctors were seen holding umbrellas in their hands amid the rain, while some took shelter under tarpaulins.
