Uttarakhand cabinet meeting: Several important proposals related to the development and public interest of the state were approved in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Decisions on subjects like biotechnology, industrial inspection, health education, women empowerment and flood security were taken in this important meeting which lasted for about two and a half hours. Cabinet ministers Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, Saurabh Bahuguna and Dhan Singh Rawat were also present in the meeting. Chief Minister’s Secretary Shailesh Bagoli informed the media after the meeting and told that a total of 6 major proposals have been approved.
Promotion of biotechnology
Two new research centers will be set up under the Uttarakhand Biotechnology Council. Research works have also been included by amending the service rules of the council, which will promote innovation and research in the field of biotechnology.
Industrial inspection system will be strong
The creation of 18 new posts in Bageshwar district has been approved, which will strengthen the inspection system of the Industrial Development and Mining Department.
53 km area declared flood zone
The 53 km area from Bhattifall to Asan Barrage has now been officially declared “flood enclosure”. This will make it possible to make appropriate schemes from floods in this region from the security point of view.
Construction work will be allowed in the Rispana-Bindal river area
Under the new flood zone, construction works like STP, Elevated Road, Ropeway Tower, Mobile Tower and High Tension Line will be approved under special permission.
Modernization of inspection buildings
The inspection buildings of the Public Works Department (PWD) at Ranikhet, Uttarkashi, Dugalbitta, Harshil and Rishikesh will be developed as a world class guest house under PPP mode.
New direction for women empowerment and paramedical education
The Women Empowerment Department was approved for the rules for the use of 1% cess from excise. A separate council will be formed in Uttarakhand for paramedical degrees and diploma courses, which will work under the “National Commission for Allied and Health Care Profession Act 2021”.
