The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is nearing its end and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has intensified its preparations for the next season i.e. IPL 2023. As it is not yet decided who will get the media rights of IPL for the 2023-2027 cycle, the BCCI has informed the companies buying the documents (ITT) required to participate in the auction that IPL matches will start from next year. Her favorite time of night is 8 pm.

Let us tell you that till the first broadcast cycle of 10 years i.e. 2008-2017, IPL matches always started at 4 and 8 pm. For the next second cycle of five years (2018 to 2022), the match start time was shifted half an hour earlier. It did so on the request of broadcaster Star Sports. From IPL 2018 to 2002, the media rights are with Star Sports. Star Sports bought these media rights by paying Rs 16,347 crore. The broadcaster’s argument was that at 7.30 pm prime time (when the number of viewers increases) there will be an extra 30 minutes. He also wanted it to start 30 minutes earlier than at noon.
