A video of him doing commentary during the third day of the rescheduled fifth Test between India and England went viral. After this, former India opener Virender Sehwag had to face the ire of users on social media. In the video, the Indian team took a wicket during England’s first innings.
After this Virat Kohli started swinging in happiness. Sehwag made objectionable remarks about Kohli doing the same dance. After India scored 416 runs in the first innings, England’s first innings was bundled out for 284 runs on the third day of the match. The video also featured Mohammad Kaif on-air with Sehwag. He saw Kohli dance during replays.
After this, Kaif told Sehwag, you see Virat Kohli’s dance. To this Sehwag said, ‘Chhamiya is dancing there, hahaha…’ The video soon went viral on Twitter. Twitter users slammed Sehwag for his objectionable remarks. They demanded the removal of Sehwag from the commentary. Many users also demanded a ban on Sehwag, popularly known as ‘Sultan of Multan’, from commenting on cricket.

@MahiRatIsGOAT tweeted and said, ‘Virender Sehwag should be banned. First called vada pav to Rohit Sharma, then posted an ad and apologized and now this. Commentators can’t stay away from such nonsense? The country is listening. @sikeitzvxnsh wrote, ‘Someone should sack Sehwag from commentary. Seeing Kohli dancing after the wicket of Stuart Broad, this man said, ‘Chamiya is dancing.’
@Vicharofsandeep wrote, ‘Did I just hear it right?? Virender Sehwag is saying for Virat Kohli, Chhamiya is dancing. So says a commentator for the modern era legend of the Indian team. this is unacceptable. BCCI… what Sehwag has done is very poor quality work. Many more people have commented like this.
Virender Sehwag had earlier made a tweet about Virat Kohli with reference to Jonny Bairstow during the third day’s match. In this tweet, he wrote, ‘Jonny Bairstow’s strike rate was 21 before Kohli’s sledging and 150 after sledging. Playing like Pujara, Kohli got Pant made by sledging.
