The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will start from March 26. Two new teams, new captains and new players will be eyeing to make their mark in the tournament. The tournament is to be inaugurated between the finalists of IPL 2021 i.e. champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Both the teams have new captains.
CSK is commanded by Ravindra Jadeja and KKR’s Shreyas Iyer. So far 28 matches have been played between KKR and CSK, co-owned by Shahrukh Khan. Out of these, KKR has won only 9 matches. At the same time, CSK has won 18 matches. One match was cancelled.
In the opening match of IPL 2022, KKR would like to avenge the loss in the final of last season. At the same time, CSK will be eyeing to start their campaign with a win in IPL 2022. Meaning both the captains would like to start with a win. This match is to be played on March 26 at 7:30 pm at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Toss time is at 07:00.

KKR bought Shreyas Iyer in IPL 2022 Mega Auction for Rs 12.25 crore. KKR will miss Australian Test team captain Pat Cummins and white ball format captain Aaron Finch in the first five matches of IPL 2022.
