Good news has come out for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday. Star all-rounder Moeen Ali has got India visa and will be available for selection in his team’s second match in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This information was given by the CEO of the franchise, Kashi Vishwanathan.
Although Moeen Ali will reach Mumbai on Thursday, he will have to be in quarantine for three days before joining his team and due to this he will not be able to play the first match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday. He will be available for the match with Lucknow Supergiants on March 31.
Viswanathan told PTI, “Moin has got the visa and will reach Mumbai today. He will be available for the second match after completing the three-day quarantine. Moin’s grandfather had migrated to England from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir but Moin was born in England and visits India frequently.
The first match of IPL 2022 will be played between four-time champions CSK and last year’s runners-up KKR at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. CSK have to play their second match against Lucknow Super Giants on 31 March.
Moeen Ali was instrumental in helping Chennai win their fourth IPL title and hence the franchise retained him along with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the auction. Moeen scored 357 runs in 15 matches and took six wickets for Chennai in the IPL last year.
