The final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will start at 8 PM IST. This claim has been made in the report of Cricbuzz. The final of IPL 2022 is to be played on the next Sunday i.e. 29 May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera in Ahmedabad. According to the report, a cultural closing ceremony will also be organized from the final match.
The report quoted BCCI and IPL officials as saying that the closing ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm. Bollywood celebrities will also give their performances in the closing ceremony. Which actors-actresses will be attending the closing ceremony have not been disclosed yet. The closing ceremony will last for 50 minutes. After this, the toss will be held at 7:30 pm Indian time and after 30 minutes the match will start.
Opening and closing ceremonies involving Bollywood stars were regular features of the IPL in the tournament’s first decade. It was closed for 3 years during the reign of the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA). Due to the Pulwama attack in 2019 and the subsequent corona epidemic, no colorful program was organized at the beginning or end of IPL 2020 and IPL 2021.
Even when the IPL began on 26 March this year, there was no opening ceremony. Later in the Apex Council meeting it was decided to hold the closing ceremony. The last match of the league stage is to be played on this Sunday i.e. 22 May in IPL 2022. This time all the league matches of IPL have been played on the grounds of Mumbai (three stadiums) and Pune.
After this, 4 matches of playoff are to be played in Kolkata and Ahmedabad. In this, on May 24 and 25, Kolkata’s Eden Gordon Stadium will host Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, while the last two matches will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the largest cricket stadium in the world.
