KL Rahul has become the third Indian to score 500 or more runs in 5 seasons in the IPL. Before KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan have done this feat in their name. However, KL Rahul’s achievement is a bit special as he has done so for the fifth time in just 9 IPL seasons. Quinton de Kock scored an unbeaten 140 against KKR. He reached number three in terms of making the highest score in IPL. He broke AB de Villiers’ record. AB de Villiers’ highest score in IPL was 133 not out. In this case, Chris Gayle (175 runs, against Pune Warriors) and Brendon McCullum (158 runs, against Royal Challengers Bangalore) are at number two.
De Kock hit 10 sixes in the match against KKR. With this, he completed his century of sixes in the IPL. He is the fifth wicketkeeper to hit 100+ sixes in IPL. Before him, MS Dhoni (223 sixes), Dinesh Karthik (126 sixes), Rishabh Pant (122 sixes), KL Rahul (109 sixes) have achieved this feat.
De Kock is the third wicketkeeper to hit 10 sixes in an IPL innings. Before him, Adam Gilchrist and Sanju Samson have done this feat in their name. De Kock is the first overseas wicketkeeper to hit 100+ sixes in IPL. He broke Adam Gilchrist’s record. Gilchrist had hit 92 sixes in IPL as a wicketkeeper.
In the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants opener Quinton De Kock remained unbeaten on 140 off 70 balls. KL Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 68 runs in 51 balls. Both shared an unbeaten 210-run partnership for the first wicket. De Kock completed his century in 59 balls. This is De Kock’s second century in the IPL.
Quinton de Kock scored his maiden century against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2016 season. This 210-run partnership between KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock is the highest partnership for any wicket against KKR. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers hold the record for the biggest partnership in IPL. Both had a partnership of 229 runs.
