Everyone knows about the dispute between former Team India captain Virat Kohli and veteran player Anil Kumble. It is about five years ago, when Virat was the captain of the team and Kumble was the coach. The feud between the two ended after the legendary spinner stepped down. Now former CAG Vinod Rai has made a big disclosure about this from his book. According to this, Virat Kohli had said that the young players were afraid of Anil Kumble. Significantly, Rai was the head of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) constituted by the Supreme Court.
This committee ran Indian cricket for almost three years. This committee was formed after the issue of spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to light. Vinod Rai, in his book Not Just a Nightwatchman — My Innings in the BCCI, said about the dispute between Kohli and Kumble that the committee was also upset.
Vinod Roy wrote in his book, “In my conversations with the captain and the team management, it was pointed out that Kumble was very strict about discipline and hence the team members were not very happy with him. I spoke to Virat Kohli on this issue and he had said that the younger members of the team feel intimidated by the way they work with him.
