A fierce fire broke out in the forests of Sariska Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan on Sunday. This has not yet been brought under control. Meanwhile, there are allegations of great negligence on the part of the Forest Department officials. Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s wife Anjali Tendulkar is also seen embroiled in controversies.
The matter is that when the forest fire broke out on Sunday evening, it was reported to the officials of the Wall Department on wireless, but instead of worrying about it, they took Anjali Tendulkar for a walk in Sariska. The matter of negligence was that the Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) RN Meena himself went out to take Anjali for a safari tour as a driver. Not only this, he also got him two tiger sightings.
Officials of the Rajasthan Forest Department said on Tuesday that efforts are being made to control the massive fire that broke out in the Sariska Tiger Reserve by Air Force helicopters equipped with water spray. Roop Narayan Meena, Field Director, Sariska Tiger Project, Alwar informed that 8-10 square kilometer area has been affected in Akbarpur range.
The fire was first detected on Sunday. The next day the authorities tried to bring it under control, but without much success. Meena said in a statement that due to strong winds, the fire has reached the hills. After this the officials called the disaster management department.
