Punjab Police on Saturday claimed that they have solved the murder case of international kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambiya. Sandeep was shot dead on March 14 by five unidentified assailants during a kabaddi match at Malian village in Jalandhar. According to the police, the incident was carried out on the conspiracy of Snovar Dhillon, who settled in Canada due to professional rivalry.
The Punjab Police has registered a case against about a dozen people including Dhillon. This also includes five shooters and a person sheltering them. The police have also arrested four people who were earlier lodged in jails in Punjab or neighboring states. Police said the shooters were called on the guidelines of Dhillon sitting in Canada.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) VK Bhavra said that the police came to know about Dhillon’s alleged involvement during interrogation of Fateh Singh that Snowar Dhillon tried to persuade several players to join ‘The National Kabaddi Federation of Ontario’. But most of the famous players were associated with ‘Major League Kabaddi’ managed by Sandeep, which made Dhillon’s federation unsuccessful.
Fateh also admitted that he had pressured some players to join Snover’s ‘Federation’. Police said Snovar Dhillon from Amritsar is currently residing in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and is the director and producer of ‘Canada with TV and Radio Show’. The police have also registered a case against Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha Duneke for conspiring to kill the player.
Jalandhar Police Rural SSP Satinder Singh told reporters that Fateh “confessed” that on the instructions of Snovar Dhillon, he along with Amit Dagar, Kaushal Choudhary, Jagjit Singh, Lucky Patial and Sukha Duneke arranged the attackers to kill Sandeep. did.
According to the police, the three main persons who had planned the murder were Snowar Dhillon, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha Duneke and Jagjit Singh alias Gandhi. Snover and Sukha live in Canada. While Gandhi lives in Malaysia. Dhillon is from Amritsar but currently lives in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. There he is the director and producer of Canadian Sath TV and radio shows.
According to the information, Simranjit alias Jujhar had provided a place for the assailants to hide in the house of his relative Swaran Singh, who is absconding, on the behest of Sukha Duneke. The SSP said that the attackers have been identified and they will be arrested soon. 18 live cartridges and 12 bore rifles have also been recovered from Swaran Singh’s house.
