The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), the apex body making rules of cricket, has recently completely banned the use of saliva on the ball during the match. Its decision will come into effect from October 2022.
On this decision of MCC Pat Cummins Said, ‘I don’t think that banning saliva will affect the performance of swing bowlers. I don’t think saliva has made a big impact on swing. We can use sweat, so it’s not a big deal.’
