The boxing world has lost another of its stars. German champion boxer Musa Yamak has died of a heart attack. The 38-year-old boxer fell in the ring during his boxing match against Uganda’s Hamza Wandera in Munich on Saturday, the New York Post reported.
“We have lost our compatriot Musa Askan Yamak, a boxer from Alucra who won the European and Asian Championships at a young age,” Turkish official Hassan Turan said on Twitter. The spectators were watching the live telecast of this match.
The fighter collapsed in the ring just before the start of the third round of the match. Wandera hit Yamak in the second round, after which he stumbled. The Post further reported that Yamak came to face Wandera again in the third round, but fell before the start of the game. Fox Sports reported that medics tried to provide first aid and bring him to life.
