Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce a new generation of its popular SUV Vitara Brezza in India soon. The SUV has been spotted at many places before its launch in India. Recently, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was seen during an ad shoot. Though the official launch date is unknown, some dealerships have started taking unofficial bookings for the vehicle.
According to sources, some dealers are charging a token amount of Rs 11,000 for booking the upcoming car. The next generation of Vitara Brezza gets a refreshed design all around it. As per the spy images, the new Brezza gets a new chrome grille along with all-LED headlights which are thinner than the current generation model. Design changes have also been made in the bumper of the car.
No changes are visible from the side of the new Maruti Brezza. However, the alloy wheels of the car have been modified. The new wheel design gives an aggressive look to the SUV. When it comes to the interior of the SUV, the new Brezza could have a sunroof among the features.
The model will get an updated 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 104bhp power and 138Nm of torque. The standard 5-speed manual unit will be paired with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox. Reports have also suggested that the carmaker may do away with the SHVS mild hybrid system from the powertrain and introduce a CNG variant.
In terms of price, the new Maruti Brezza is expected to be costlier than the current generation of SUVs. In India, Maruti Brezza competes with Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue etc.
Earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki had announced that it would be discontinuing its popular van- the Eeco in India very soon. Maruti Suzuki Eeco has been selling well since its launch in the Indian market. However, the manufacturer is all set to discontinue the Eeco and re-introduce it with a new model later this year (2022). For those who are unknown, the Maruti Eeco was launched in India in 2010 as the successor to the Omni van.
