Vivek Agnihotri, who came into the limelight by creating The Kashmir Files, has now taken the initiative to set up a Genocide Museum. He urged about this in front of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on 25 March. In response, Chouhan said- you start the work, the Madhya Pradesh government is with you. All necessary help will be provided from the ground up. Describing the need of this museum, Agnihotri said that with this the world would be able to understand the pain of inhumanity. Chauhan said- Mama is with you.
When Vivek Agnihotri told his Madhya Pradesh connection, Shivraj described the Kashmiris as a piece of liver and said that people of every society dissolve like sugar in milk here.
Let us inform that Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has shown the story of the pain of Kashmiri Pandits and their escape. There is a lot of politics going on this too. BJP leaders and BJP ruled governments are promoting the film a lot by telling it the truth of Kashmir. Congress is telling this exaggerated story in the name of true story.
In the midst of propaganda and political controversies, there is also a ruckus about making the film tax free. Almost all the BJP ruled states have made this film tax free. In which about 8 provinces like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana are included. On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed The Kashmir Files as a false film and said that BJP is roaming all over the country and putting up posters of this film.
On the question of making the film tax free in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal had said that if Vivek Agnihotri (director of the film) has such a noble intention, then why not upload it on YouTube. People from all over the country will see it there for free.
Demand for help of Kashmiri Pandits from the film’s earnings: Made in a very low budget, The Kashmir Files broke all records in terms of earnings. The film is about to enter the 200 crore club. A section on social media is asking to give a part of the earnings from this film to Kashmiri Pandits and help them. In the past, when Vivek Agnihotri was asked the same question to the director of the film or he had said that ‘Abhi toh earning has not happened.
