Maharashtra cabinet minister and Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray has accused the central agencies of being the “propaganda machinery” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Aditya on Tuesday said that central agencies have become BJP’s propaganda machinery, but Maharashtra will not bow down. The remarks came after the Income Tax Department searched the premises of Shiv Sena corporator and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Standing Committee chairman Yashwant Jadhav.
Last month, the Enforcement Directorate had also raided the residences of Raut’s daughters Purvashi and Sujit Patkar, a partner in a firm of Vidhita, in connection with the Rs 1034 crore land scam. Thackeray said, “In the past also central agencies have been misused. It happened in West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and now it is happening in Maharashtra. Central agencies have in a way become BJP’s propaganda machinery. Maharashtra will not bow down.” ”
‘Politicians are being harassed using central agencies’
Earlier, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had also alleged that the BJP-ruled Center was harassing party leaders by using central agencies. He said, “Central agencies are harassing our party leaders. Pressure is being created on our leaders by using these agencies. Some BJP leaders are saying that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government will fall on March 10. These All the rumors started when I wrote to Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.”
Nawab Malik in judicial custody for 14 days
On the other hand, a special court in Mumbai sent Maharashtra Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik to 14-day judicial custody on Monday in a money laundering case related to the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. Malik was arrested on February 23 by the Enforcement Directorate after questioning him for nearly five hours at its South Mumbai office.
