Bhind. Manvendra Singh Yadav, a farmer of Daboh town of the district, has adopted fish farming by moving away from traditional farming. He started fish farming with a cost of Rs 50,000. In the very first year he got double the cost. After this the farmer Mr. Yadav completely got into the fish farming. Now they have seven big tanks. Fishing is done in these tanks. The farmer has earned an income of Rs 5 lakh in this one year. Apart from this, he has also given employment to many unemployed people.
Build two tanks in the first year to do fish farming
Farmer Manvendra Singh says that in the year 2019-20, he contacted the Assistant Director Fisheries Office. Taking information from here, started fish farming in two tanks of capacity of 10 thousand liters of water in the village. One and a half metric tonnes of fish production was achieved at a cost of Rs. 50 thousand. This resulted in a profit of about one lakh rupees. After this, in the year 2020-21, in contact with the fisheries department, seven tanks with a capacity of 20 thousand liters of water were constructed at a cost of seven and a half lakh rupees. The Prime Minister was also associated with Matsya Sampada Yojana. Produced 10 lakh fish twice a year from all the seven tanks. Due to this, Manvendra has earned a profit of five lakh rupees in about one year.
The demand for fish remains more than the production
Farmer Manvendra Singh says that initially he did fish farming to try his luck, but it has proved to be a profitable deal. Now he has given employment to half a dozen unemployed people of his village. Along with this, there is a lot of demand for fish in the surrounding districts. There is a lot of profit from fisheries due to the demand being more than the production.
