Gwalior News: Gwalior (Naiduniya Representative). Under the AMRUT scheme, the water filled in the tanks was supplied to the city from the water treatment plant built at Jalalpur in the city. But due to low water pressure, as before, people had to fill water in their homes by installing tillu pumps. On the other hand, due to non-availability of connections given to the people under the Amrit Yojana, water continued to spread through the taps of Amrit in most parts. On Saturday, water was supplied to the city through a 1000 mm diameter water line. In about 20 percent of the houses, the tanks were filled with 1000 mm diameter thick water line and then water was supplied to the city.
Under the AMRUT scheme, water was to be supplied to a height of 12 meters in each house by pressure without the use of any equipment. But the pressure of the water sent under the AMRUT scheme was very less. Due to this, water was supplied in the areas like Amaltash Colony, Narayan Vihar, Shatabdipuram, Deendayal Nagar etc. But the water could not reach a height of 12 meters. Although the water pressure was faster than before, it was not as per the norms of AMRUT scheme.
24 hours water supply
Under the AMRUT scheme, water supply was to be provided in the entire city seven days a week and 24 hours a day. Accordingly, a water treatment plant with water lines and tanks has been built. Now the officials say that supply cannot be done for 24 hours for seven days at present, because the Water Resources Department does not have that much water. For this water will have to be brought from Chambal river. Also other options have to be fulfilled.
