Anchor Rohit Ranjan was dropped. After this, the Noida Police took Ranjan for questioning, while the Chhattisgarh Police team, which came for arrest, had a dispute with the UP Police outside his house for not following the due process. Though Ranjan was not named in the original FIR of the case, the Noida Police later booked him under IPC section 505(2) (statement conducive to public mischief and enmity) and arrested him.
